Salvage Grocery Stores...what is it and how does it help?

Salvage grocery stores and what is it and how does it help to stretch that dollar? It's a grocery store that is contracted with local markets such as Target, Walmart, Giant, Kroger and more to sell off their over stock our slightly out of date items (which we will get into later).
The food items which are mainly non-perishables ( such as health and beauty aids, can goods, dry goods such as rice, pasta, beans, etc). These items are slightly outdated, dented, torn packaging (but in a sealed wrapping of some sort), store closures, overstock and more.
They are still good when you consider the following about the dates on non-perishables (see the link below).
Knowing that such basics as coffee, pasta, rice and etc are still good why not shop at salvage grocery stores. It's a like a two folded relationship in some aspects. Some of the salvage grocery stores are local owned which means small business (always a good thing). Instead of paying 4-6$ in a regular store you can get some items for mere pennies on the dollar. This is great if you have a huge family, your prepper, and love to stock pile or heck even buy for women's shelters and food pantries.
These type of stores are also inspected just like a regular food store. They can't accept or sell ANY food item that is leaking, cans where there is dent or hole near or around the seal of the can, any package that is severely cut that exposes food items that are not individually wrapped.
I have one that I go to that is ran by the Amish/Mennonite community and LOVE it! I have priced compared what I got from them (and hells yeah they carry organics) to say Walmart. In my bargain hauls I have save over 200$ by shopping there for just non-perishables alone. I have gotten Bob Red Mill products, Seeds of Change, and more organic products I love but not pay that "organic" product price.
Example: I bought myself the iced coffee by Gevalia which is about 6-7$ in Walmart. I bought it for 1$ saving 5-6$ off.
I am posting links about salvage grocery stores pertaining to information on what to look for and what not to buy, as well as where you can find them in your state. This makes extreme couponing look silly and a sure way to make that money sing for your meal and getting a whole lot of food for next to nothing in cost.
Happy Shopping and saving!
