Make your own grocery stuffs

By Rachel Schardt - 11:43 AM

Going along with the last post about saving money...I know that the biggest part of a budge that hits is food. Why? Your paying all these big corporations to make things that you can make at home. Your also paying for the convenience of pre-packaged meats and then lets not even get into all the factory recalls of meat for what e coli and listeria.

I love pinterest because it's helped me in so many ways on carving my own meats and making pantry staples and more. I am trying to cut cost where and how I can. I use menus for meal planing and noticed that many of the recipes I make use the same cuts of meat and  from there I started hunting on other things that I can make at home to control the amount of salt and chemicals I consume.

With this I have noticed when I did this before I was slowly losing and keeping it off. Every little thing helps and if your willing to deal with a  slight mess (cos let's be honest cutting your own meats can be messy) it's worth it.

butcher whole pork loin (I got 6 meals out of this)
cutting chicken (I got a 2 pack of whole chicken from Walmart for 9$)
tenderloin for two

Now for the dry good part of this post....cos every little bit helps!
