Chalkboard labels by KANAS

7:58 PM

See how pretty they are!

So I have items in bulk...like the rest of you all do too I am sure. I use alot of rice, and I mean alot of rice. That container with the pretty label that ya see is 5lbs. of jasmine rice.

But look at those oh so pretty labels. I got to try them and try them I did, still kinda in the process of using more to make things more organized. Well any ways back to the labels.

I have tried other versions of chalk board labels and HATED them, I figured I would try them since I am to write a review for them....(Thanks Tomoson and KANAS). I love these labels. Here's what's different about the KANAS labels I got to try compared to the others that I have used and since recycled them somewhere else.

With KANAS Labels I was able to easily wipe the writing off and rewrite what ever it was I was writing. The other labels well lets say my coffee container will always say coffee not matter what. "I don't like that".

KANAS labels are easy to use...I mean easy! Easy to remove and if I had little air bubbles I was able to lift the label and re-position them without a fight, losing the adhesive or tearing the the label.

Decorative: The set I was able to try had 4 different styles. As you can see in the picture below. I used 2 framed, one square, one circle. I liked the variety I had with these labels. The ones I had before I would have had to buy 4 different packages and honestly it's not worth the money if I can buy 1 package with 4 different styles.

Ease of use: These were pretty darn easy to use. I had an issue getting them off the paper but that was more operator error than product error.

Style: These can work pretty much any style that your are going for. I currently have a mix mash of styles going on in my kitchen and yet these pretty little labels work in my kitchen.

Organizing: Makes it where you can see it, you know what it is and most importantly everything will have a home. I homeschool and can't wait to use more of these guys to help me better organize my room that we use. It's so hard trying to keep everything straight but with these labels that I can just erase when something changes makes so much easier then having to make more new labels that I can't change the name of.

Kid friendly: My son loves these labels....hence why I had to hide them. I plan on using more of these awesome labels for homeschooling. Once the work is done on the house (that's another post).

See 4 pretty styles to do a number of things!

Want to know where to get them??? Amazon! Check it out here. Lots of great reviews with other pictures of their uses for the same labels. Honestly it's worth it. I wrote a review but hey that's what you do right?

Here's my final say; I would buy these again and again. I love how simple they are to use, different styles to dress up about any jar/box/keeper you have. Bonus its a prime item which means 2 day shipping free. Let me know how much you all love them too.

* I was given the chance to try these labels courtesy of Tomoson and King Cobra. This review was written based upon my own formed opinion of their labels. This is only my honest opinion and I am not responsible for any issues that may or may not happen based upon the review written. I am not affiliated with Amazon for paid links. I post Amazon links cos well they have almost everything. *

Unit Study done my way

9:46 PM

Yup such nice handwriting I have there...don't ya think?

Insanity that known as the homeschooling mom. Well here we are gearing into week 8 and yes I am well aware that says week 10 in the photo. I had come to the issue of that we weren't learning no where I thought we were in science.

Dear Son is in love with magic school but once the video and scholastic worksheets were done we had anywhere from 2-3 days open. I was tired of going to the next video and knew I needed to fix it and fast! That's where unit studies come in.

Unit study= "Unit studies, sometimes called thematic units or integrated studies, are very popular with homeschoolers. Unit studies usually use a hands-on approach for effective learning. The child learns by actually experiencing or discovering through different methods and activities, rather than just reading a chapter from a textbook. Studies show that children using unit-study methods retain 45% more than those using a traditional approach."

Now with said and done... I have done science and broke it down with projects and activities. Next week we are learning about the rainforest. So things that we are going to get into are what types of animals live there, where are rain forests located, what types of plants can be found, are their indigenous peoples that live there and so on. Some topics that we cover have mini books that I printed off and lapbooks to go with them.

As you can see the color the Coral Reef is a lapbook with tons of information about sea life, the ecology, biology and more. I have combined the subjects of ELA (English, Language Arts), Science and arts and crafts. Everything blends with each other. I also have a print out for DS to do a report on an animal for each topic that we have science.

It expands on what we are learning in science, but unit studies can be use for any subject really. There are tons of resources that are free, you just gotta know where it look or how to Google them.

It's taken me 3 days to figure out how I wanted to do this and keep DS attention with science as well as expand our topic so he is actually learning more than what Mrs. Frizzle can teach in a 20 min. YouTube video.
